Women have been a vital part
of the ongoing ministry of the Church of God since its humble
beginnings in the rugged Unicoi Mountains. Their ministries
now reach around the world with a multiplicity of emphases
and focuses…including prayer, Bible study, local and world
missions, covenant team ministry (providing assistance to
mission states and regions), benevolence, prison outreach,
ministry to both young girls and senior adults, fund-raising,
printed resource materials, and social issues that affect
women. On a local level, our special project is the
Smoky Mountain Children's Home, in Tennessee.
Women’s Ministries endeavors to create an atmosphere where
women can realize spiritual maturity and fellowship, develop
their leadership skills, and minister in the local church,
their community and the world. To help achieve this
objective, the department utilizes a Standard of Excellence
program, which is a 10-point grading system that furnishes
incentives for excellence and provides goals to help women
realize their fullest potential in Kingdom ministry.

Prayer
Bear Ministry
In
September of 2006, the Women's Ministries Department
began our "Prayer Bear Ministry" in an attempt to reach
the hurting children at
Cook's Children's
Hospital, in Fort Worth, Texas. After discussions with
representatives from this nationally recognized
children's hospital, it was determined that we would be
allowed to furnish medically approved teddy bears to the
sick children of this great hospital. The doctors and
chaplains felt this
would be a tremendous ministry and would be very
uplifting for these precious children.
We were
able to locate the medically approved bears and
delivered the first fifty by the second week of
September. We plan to continue this ministry as long as
God continues to bless us with the donations to purchase
the bears.
Please prayerfully consider making a donation to this
ministry in order that we can place a smile of hope on
the face of a sick child. Each bear is anointed with oil
and prayed over prior to delivery to the hospital,
therefore we are expecting great testimonies of miracles
and salvations from this very special ministry.
To make a
donation, simply click on the "Make a Donation"

information field so your gift will be properly
credited. |
