Music Ministry
Worship, as God desires it, brings us into His presence where we experience Him in communion with us. As Christians, we need to experience both private and corporate worship. At Diamond Oaks, we believe that worship is a participatory event and our role in leading worship is to help our congregation experience the presence of God. Toward that end we prayerfully enter every service seeking the will of God in every song we sing. That may consist of a classic hymn from our historical "red back hymnal" or one of the newest contemporary praise and worship songs. The largest choir in the church is the congregation. Leading the congregation in exciting praise and worship is absolutely essential since praise is desired by God. Randy Kizer, an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God, has been leading praise and worship at Diamond Oaks for over 15 years and considers it a necessity to create an atmosphere of worship for all in attendance through a wide variety of song styles, backed by a talented and anointed group of musicians ministering with such instruments of praise as piano, organ, drums, guitar and bass guitar, to name a few.
We understand the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19-20 to be the calling of all Christians to lead others into a personal faith in God and to help nurture them into an ongoing personal growth process. This vision of spiritual maturity should also be a part of the worship ministry. We feel called not only to the work of music ministry, but to encourage others to develop their gifts in this area as well. We are blessed with many talented singers who have individual ministries, though music, and we help nurture and train these individuals to use their talents to help further the Kingdom. Come and join us as we glorify our God during
a wonderful time of praise and worship, preparing our hearts and minds for the
presentation of the Word.
